As a Bricklayer, you will carry out a range of brickwork repairs and building works within occupied and void properties. This includes repairs to walls, structures and related building elements, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

You will work closely with supervisors, contract managers and residents to deliver repairs that meet contract requirements and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

As a Bricklayer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out bricklaying works including repairs to walls, structures and brickwork features.

  • Work from plans, specifications and job instructions to complete works to the required standard.

  • Prepare and apply mortar and ensure correct alignment and positioning of materials.

  • Cut and shape bricks and blocks using appropriate tools and equipment.

  • Carry out repairs to brickwork, blockwork and related structures.

  • Ensure work areas are safe, tidy and compliant with Health & Safety requirements.

  • Complete job records and documentation accurately using PDA or digital systems.

  • Work collaboratively with other operatives and support apprentices where required.

  • Deliver a high standard of workmanship with a strong focus on first-time fix.

  • Provide a professional service to residents while working in occupied properties.

About You

To succeed as a Bricklayer, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in bricklaying within a repairs and maintenance or construction environment.

  • Ability to interpret drawings, plans and specifications.

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements on construction or housing sites.

  • Experience working within social housing or property maintenance environments (desirable).

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

  • Full UK driving licence.
